Good Housekeeping on Byers’ Leaf Guard
How Leaf Guard works
With Leaf Guard’s patented design,
debris rolls off, water rolls in.
Byers’ Leaf Guard works on the scientific principle known as “liquid adhesion.” If you hold a glass sideways under a running faucet, you’ll see this principle at work – the water clings to the curve of the glass. Rainwater clings to Leaf Guard’s curved hood and drops into the trough. Leaves, twigs, pine needles and seed pods roll right over the edge.
The ONLY seamless, one-piece gutter guard system on the market.
Unlike two-piece systems, screens or add-on covers, Byers’ Leaf Guard is an integrated system formed from a single piece of aluminum. Seamless construction – along with our heavy commercial grade .032" aluminum – give our gutters superior structural strength. Seamless also means our gutters won't leak.

Extra-heavy rustproof aluminum.
Standard aluminum gutters weigh in at .027". Byers’ Leaf Guard gutters are built from .032" aluminum – 23% thicker. Because it’s aluminum, it won’t rust. Byers’ Leaf Guard is also available in 16 oz. solid copper.
“Positive Flow” means no standing water.
Leaf Guard's unique design allows us to slope the gutters to the downspouts independently of the roofline. Leaf Guard attaches to the fascia boards or rafter tails, not the roof. This method allows our installers to carefully control the slope of the gutters, making sure "Positive Flow" moves water out of your gutters. Where West Nile virus is a problem, you don't want standing water in your gutters where mosquitos can breed. With Byers' Leaf Guard, rainwater always flows out of the troughs, down the spouts and away from your home.
Large troughs and downspouts move maximum amount of water.
Everything about the Leaf Guard design moves water fast. Our troughs are large and unobstructed by brackets or screws. Our downspouts are 3" x 4" instead of the usual 2" x 3" – double the drainage of ordinary downspouts. The Leaf Guard system can handle up to 32" of rain per hour.
Tough, beautiful finish with a lifetime guarantee.
Leaf Guard’s finish will not chip, peel blister, or crack – guaranteed for as long as you own your home. Our gutter systems are available in a variety of colors to enhance the beauty of your home.
